Captain Knauer walked to Guard Lambert's quarters, wondering if he was on shift or not. He was bored out of his mind and wondered if Lambert might want to go to the gym and work out or go through a football around, or just hang out in general. A small chat and a cup of coffee was welcomed anytime. Sighing softly, he raised his hand and rasped on the door with his knuckles, waiting to see if anyone was home.

"Come in!"
Lambert's voice ecoed through the door as the guard poured himself a cup of coffee, getting another cup out in case he had a guest.

Knauer gripped the handle of the door and opened it to reveal Lambert. He walked in and let the door slam shut behind him before looking at Lambert. "Hello Lambert," he said, watching him. "Just wondering if you wanted to hang out or something." This was completely off character for the Captain. Asking someone to 'hang out'. What kind of shit was that? Shaking these thoughts aside, he paused, wondering what else to say.
<<Can you come over and watch the Longest Yard with Josh and I? I gotta go at 1:00.>>

"Sure, come in for some coffee."
Lambert replied gruffly, admitting the captain into his quarters. Was Knauer feeling ok? He didn't normally 'hang out'... and neither did Lambert. The most either one of them did was talk in the locker rooms or lecture each other for some random crap or another.

"Thank you," Knauer spoke, surprising himself. Taking the invitation, he took a seat in one of the chairs, looking at Lambert. The didn't usually converse with one another unless the need was dire... but... Knauer had gone a bit off the deep end with all that was happening. This was a nice change from what had been going on. Leaning back in the chair, he took off his hat and set it on his knee.
"So... how have things been going with the convicts?" he asked, trying to figure out how to start up a friggin' conversation.

Convicts, convicts, convicts... Is that all Knauer could think about? Did he have a life? ??Well, technically no. None of the Guards at Allenville had a life. That's why they kept watch in this hellhole. Knauer had been here for 14 years, could he just up and leave for somewhere... but he never did. Why? Out of all the guards, he probably deserved to get out of here more then anyone in the while prison... but he didn't leave. Well, Lambert probably knew why. Where to go? When you've spent most of your life working somewhere, it was hard to leave and there was basically nowhere to go. "Good, Artemis is being a pain in the ass as usual. She escaped twice this month... Well, at least we've narrowed it down to Months instead of weeks... What about you?"

A frustrated sigh passed between Knauer's teeth as he heard about Arti. Of course, if she didn't attempt to make stupid escapes, she wouldn't be Arti. Shaking his head slightly, he spoke. "Nothing here... two more inmates, both need to be put in their place..." He smirked at the thought but allowed it to pass as he looked back to Lambert. "You know, if she wasn't a pain in the ass, she wouldn't be Artemis..."
His tone was a rather humourous one as he sat there, thinking about how Arti had tried to escape over the years. All of them were little things but were apparently effective. She would never get out of Allenville by escape; he would make sure of that... It was true, he had nowhere to go if he left Allenville... it was like his home...
Hell, it was his home. What was he talking about? Shaking his head, he allowed a sigh to pass from his lips once more before he looked back to Lambert. "Have any run in with the Warden?"

Lambert sighed, he supposed Knauer was right. Arti was just that way, personally he thought she LET herself be caught... and just escaped to see how long it took the guards to notice...
"Too true, too true."
Thoughts paused to reflect on the new prisnors... at least they weren't as high matenince as some others he knew.
"Nope... how's that other girl doing?"
He asked, for he had seen the two talking and it seemed as if they were closer then just friends.

A shrug was given, telling Lambert that he wasn't in the mood to talk about it. Knauer liked Kaylen, hell, he loved her, but all of this had gotten him in major trouble with the Warden. He almost lost his job... Shuddering slightly, he allowed the thought to pass as he looked back at Lambert. "Things are fine," he said rather quietly.
Though his tone was this quiet, it held a sense of defiance. Defiance of this imprisonment and defiance of the Warden's law. He had become sick of both but had learned to bear it with a smile on his face and a look that said, "Hello world! Let me beat you to the ground today!" Shaking his head once more, he looked at the coffee
