A sigh escaped from Lambert's lips as he walked towards the warden's office with a monthly report to give. Yay. Footsteps echoed through the halls as he grew closer and closer to warden Hazen's office. Knuckles rapped against the woodwork of the door as he waited for a reply.
Guard Lambert had worked at Allenville prison almost as long as Knauer. 10 years or so after his service in the Navy. It was an easy going job with the occasional fight now and then among the convicts. Life was slowly changing. Now they had women inmates at allenville. What was the warden up to now?

Hazen opened up the door, thinking it was Captain Knauer again. He seemed to always be knocking on the Warden's door lately, with one piece of news or another. Nodding in greeting to Lambert, he motioned for him to sit down across from him. He surveyed one of his more experienced guards, glad that he didn't look like he had just rolled out of bed, like some of those other no good guards that they had runnin' around lately.
Taking out Lambert's file, the Warden shook his head with an almost apologetic shake. "Sorry about this Lambert, I know you're mighty busy, but we've gotta go through your monthly report - I'm assuming that's why your here, right son?"

Lambert nodded, running his fingers through brown hair.
"Yes sir,"
He replied, pulling out some papers he brought with him before sitting down. Flipping through his own papers he brought out inmate unger's <sp?> profile.
"Unger has been prooved guilty for the murder of Caretaker. Crewe was prooved innocent... unfortunately. The court has asked us to keep higher security around him in fear of it happening again and has issued a charge of life imprisonment."

Hazen nodded, a bit annoyed at the court system. "Higher security should be administered...your right, Lambert." He scribbled down a few notes into a private file, and then tapped his pen to the sound of the distant radio in his office.
"I just called you in here for a basic update on how everything's going, son, with the new prisoner's and especially the women ones. We also this year have gotten a few women guards, so I'm counting on you to show them the ropes. Also, if you have any idea's whatsoever about what happens in Allenville, feel free to tell me now."
The warden leaned back in his chair and folded his hands over his waist.

Lambert nodded,
"The female prisnors are behaving well, and the new guards are getting into the swing of things."
A few seconds were taken to ponder the matte of Allenville, all was working well... and nothing appeared out of place... so far.
"That's about it, Sir."
Lambert replied, his mind not able to come up with anything else.
"Is there anything you currently have planned for Allenville??"

The Warden shook his head, not wanting to give away anything to just anyone. "You know I can't let you in on that, Lambert...now, thanks for everything, I think I have a pretty general idea about ya. By the way, keep up the good work." Hazen walked over, and patted Lambert on the back in a mannerly way.
" I won't keep you any longer, but just don't be fallin' asleep on the job, got it?" The Warden said sternly.

Lambert nodded dumbly,
"Yessir."
He replied. The warden was always relititvely secretive about these things. What big things would be happening in a prison? He asked himself as he turned to leave. Common, it wasn't like it was the U.S. government's most secret plan.... But whatever. Warden Hazen's word was law around here.

The Warden nodded his goodbyes, tipping his hat in silent solute to one of his better (less lazy) guards. Smiling heartily, amused with all the going-ons around the prison, he knew that no prisoner would dare escape. He heard all the rumours about him, saw the stares from the men wearing the orange suits, and felt the gaze of the new women inmates. He knew that they feared him, and he used it to his advantage.
