<<*feels loved* Thanks guys ;D>>
Knauer smirked. "That's great," he drawled as he swung the nightstick at the back of her legs, intending of connecting the two. He was not in a great mood and if it meant taking it out on this guard in front of him, so be it. He was head hauncho in this hellhole and he was going to put anyone who thought otherwise in place. He felt a tinge of anger pass through him as his eyes flashed.

Kaylen noticed that there was a lot, a lot of tension between the newest female guard, and Knauer. Inwardly, she shuddered, because she knew that in order for Knauer to have complete control over his guards, and of course, inmates, he would do anything. He had the power to punish, and if this ignorant guard didn't realize that, she would herself get hurt.
Kaylen knew that Knauer wasn't a horrible man, she saw that it was just a facade that had grown over the years of being in Allenville. This place - there was something about the way it loomed, the way it snatched people into it's grasp, swallowing them whole. Both the guards and the prisoners were part of this, no matter what.
Kaylen smiled lightly at Knauer, hoping to get his mind off of the woman guard who seemed determined to piss him off. "I haven't met the Warden yet...do you think it's a good idea?"

"No," Knauer answered instantly, looking at Kaylen with a hint of respect. "He isn't in a very good mood right now and that isn't the best of ideas." He looked at the female guard and backed off, returning to Kaylen. It took every ounce of self control in him to keep himself from striking the damn guard down where she stood. The tension choked him a bit as he looked at Kaylen.

Megget felt a bit lonely as he sat eating his dinner he was violent but he was very quiet unless someone pissed him off then he would change like a flick of a button. He had clearly had enough with this women guard he hated women ... he had had bad past with them involving innocent people involved. He had a short temper and knew most people would a pick a fight with him because of it. But who cares about him anyway he's just like the rest of the people he knows ... a thug.
He used to have a wife until he had a fight with her brother.
But surely underneath that hard covering there is something soft inside the only problem is getting threw that covering. Had anyone pasted that covering? ... No.
Moving his dinner plate to the side he looked into his bag and reached for a black paperback book. Flicking through the pages he stopped at a certain page, written on the page was song lyrics. He recently had been writing a song about his life so far in this mess.
This is a shout out to every young brother ya know Thats doin his thing right now Keep ya head up... He’s walkin the yard wishin he had wings Ya know so he could fly up out that joint Man
[Intro] If I could, fly away Ooo and I wouldn’t come back no more I, I’d turn around, Just to see you for the last time, See, now I know Hey, that it won’t be easy I done fought in a battle, and I done made it this far I gotta few more feet, but its still the longest yard
[Verse 1] Man, it’s the longest yard I ever had to get in my life And see my life ain’t right, if my wife don’t write My niggas cant eat if the fish don’t bite My raise the gross sales, like Mike and Ike Now big brother almighty I keep a gamma ray, i’ma G-5 G Take a G-5 jeep, G-5 deep Too some of their bare feet And that jeep don’t speak Listen mayne they lock it down round here See body bag and gag and your found round here This as serious as it sound round here The guards guard the ground, 4 pounds round here And they ain’t playin, they’re just lettin you know That anything they want to happen, nigga happen real slow Get the word from upstairs, put you in that hole I cant take it, I’m just ready to go
[Chorus] If I could, fly away Ooo and I wouldn’t come back no more I, I’d turn around, Just to see you for the last time, See, now I know Hey, that it won’t be easy I done fought in a battle, and I done made it this far I gotta few more feet, but its still the longest yard Yeah yeah, its still the longest yard Uh uh, its still the longest yard Um um, its still the longest yard I done fought in a battle and I done made it this far
[Verse 2] I’m in my cell 20 hours a day And doin push-ups ever hour a day Cause im tryin to keep the cowards away Thats why im markin off the calendar days Tryin to get it out of the way And im just tryin to keep a piece of mine And im gon shame a mother fu**er with a piece of mine Cause he tryin to take a piece of mine So im gon slice his ass a piece at a time But now that they close the door Lock me in, in a cell 30 deep but its built for 10 Tell me what kind of world they got you in With the barbed wire fences, box u in From now, til they turn off the lights I’ma read anything in sight Its kinda hard tryin to read at night But I’ma change my life And hope another brother take this flight
[Chorus]
[Verse 3] (Oohh no) I gotta make it out this place some how (Oohh no) Man I really believe that I done turned it around (Oohh no) You see, all I need is that second chance to show, since I crossed the ration, my obligation of rehabilitation (Oohh no) They can punch me high, and they can kick me low (Oohh no) Spit on me, it's gonna take more than that for them to break my soul (Oohh no) Man its hard for people to understand what its like to be, gated, incarcerated , I just cant take it, but I’ma make it man to see better days
[Chorus]
[Hook] If I could fly away, If I could I turn around, If I could fly away
He Made sure no one could read his songs as they were pretty special to him. Finishing the last paragraph he looked at it and sang it in his mind.

Kaylen smiled softly back up at him. Then, realizing she was staring, turned back to her mush that this prison called food. Smelling in the different odors that drifted in from the kitchen, the different convicts around her, she felt oddly at peace. She didn't think that she would settle in this fast, but it had happened. She would be here for at least another couple of years, if she was lucky, and then out on parol.
What would she do? She had spent most of her memorable days in here - she couldn't even remember what her old friends looked like. Settling onto the hard wooden bench, she twirled a piece of her hair that was getting longer by the day. Hopefully by the end of the summer it would be fuller - she would feel more like a young girl again.
Noticing that the woman guard had walked away, and that the fellow inmate who had sat down beside her was gone, there was no obligation for her to stay sitting here. Picking up her tray, she smiled at Knauer. "Take me somewhere..." She said almost softly, wanting to get out of this crowded place.

"Well Inmate Kaylen, the places to go are the Yard and the Gym. Take your pick," he said, cringing slightly at the fact he had to call her Inmate. He was just afraid of the fact that the Warden would catch him or some other dumb ass guard would go and tell on him. That was the greatest fear he had. Losing those he cared for... and the Warden. Not the best combination when it came to Knauer.
He swallowed harshly and glared at an Inmate before looking back at Kaylen. He then glanced away, unable to look at her. Pain passed through his eyes for a moment before he put his nightstick back in his belt.

Kaylen's eyes shot open when she heard what he had addressed her as...inmate. Feeling stupid, like she had totally expected too much of him, she got up off the bench with a slight stumble, being extra careful not to bump him, not to touch him. Taking in a shaky breath she moved quickly towards the exit, slamming her tray down amongst the other dirty utensils. Feeling like she was going to be sick, she replayed their conversation over and over in her mind, trying to find one things, something that would make this seem a little less confusing.
Shaking her head angrily, she allowed herself to be escorted outside by two unknown guards, towards the gym. She needed to do something. Anything.

"K-Kaylen?! W-Wait!" he called out and took off running after her. He ignored all of the strange looks he recieved as he followed her, not able to keep up with her. Slowing down, he leaned against a wall, panting in a feeble attempt to regain his breath. Shaking his head, he followed at a much slower pace. He found her in the Gym with the two dumb assed guards. "Get back to your work before I go Medival all over your candy asses!" he snapped, watching them leave.
"Kaylen," he gasped, out of breath. Sweat dripped down his face. "Listen to me..." He felt as if he was about to pass out from the heat and lack of oxygen.

She turned, hearing her voice being called out. Loudly. She saw Knauer running up to them, quite a sight to see, actually. His glasses were astrew upon his hair, and his cowboy hat had fallen off in the process. Her heart was in her throat as she heard him yelling at the two guards who had acompannied her on her way to the gym.
Taking a deep breath, she walked over to him, her shoes slightly making a mark in the dew-strewn grass. Putting a hand tentatively on his back, she could feel him taking in ragged breaths from running. "You really need to go to the gym more often." She said, with a husky chuckle.

He smirked slightly as he regained the breath he had lost. Shaking his head slighlty, he coughed and straightened up. He turned to look at her, ignoring the fact that he was a total mess. "Kaylen... I didn't mean... to hurt you when I called you 'Inmate'. The Warden... the Warden said I would be in huge trouble if he heard me call you or anyone by their first names... That just isn't how things work here... I..." He paused to take another breath.
"I just wanted to let you know that," he said, gently allowing himself to fall onto his ass onto the dewy grass. He put his arms behind him to support himself.

Kaylen let herself slide onto the grass beside him, and she noticed that there were a few blank and confused stares that inmates walking by, gave them. One of them whistled, again, and she flipped him the bird. She honestly didn't give a shit what this looked like, because they were right. She did see herself as falling in love with Knauer, which totally took both of them by surprise, obviously, and she knew that no matter what, she wouldn't care what anyone thought.
Sliding closer to him, she surveyed him, her defined lips pursing together as she thought about what to say.
"I understand...Brian.....Knauer....uh...Captain...Captain Knauer...?"
Before she knew it, she had totally screwed up her wording, and she looked at him apologetically, with her beautiful brown eyes. "What should I call you, now, then? I....I want to be truthful to you, and I'm scared of what will happen if I am.." She trails off, angry with herself.

Knauer glared at the man who whistled but let it go before he looked at Kaylen. He didn't care what everyone else thought about his life. He didn't care what everyone else thought about him in general. All he cared about was everyone stayed away... unless he didn't want them to. He chuckled a bit at her stumbling of words. "Call me Captain Knauer while we're surrounded, Brian when we're alone," he said quietly, pausing to glare at a prisoner.
All feared Knauer and that was how he wanted to keep it. He looked back at Kaylen, smiling a bit. Thank the Lord the Warden wasn't out here or he would be in huge trouble. He sat there, enraptured by Kaylen's chocolate eyes. Shaking his head a bit, he looked away, mentally berating himself for being stupid. They were outside!

Kaylen pulled her legs up to a sitting position, wrapping her slender arms around them. Resting her head on her knees, she smiled at him, her lips slightly parted. She could feel the wind whistling past her, the dust from the ground swirling around her legs like tiny tornadoes. She sat there quietly for a while, enjoying this moment alone with him, even though they were surrounded by a number of other inmates and guards.
Her heart jumped rapidly pounding in her chest when she heard that she could call him by his first name...Brian...
Nodding in his direction, she knew that she couldn't hug him, or kiss him yet, because they were in public, but she was glad just the same, knowing just how much he was seemingly giving up to be with her. He was putting his entire job on the line, and she knew that in similiar circumstances, she would have done the same for him.
They were getting too many stares from other guards, so she cleared her throat loadly, and stood, slightly brushing away grass from her back, and behind her legs. Shoving her hands into her pockets she smiles down at him. "Ok...maybe I'll talk to you later, Captain Knauer." She said with a small mischevious smile.

"Yes of course... inmate," he said, winking in a teasing fashion as he stood up, dusting his behind off so none of the dust clung to his pants. "Shall I get someone to escourt you?" Mirth danced into his eyes as he watched her. He loved everything about her but he couldn't just come out and say that.
He adjusted his cowboy hat and put on his glasses as he watched her every movement as if trying to keep it in his mind to replay it over and over again. She fascinated him and he was curious to know about her. After being stuck with men for 15 years of his life, he had almost forgotten what it was like to converse with the opposite gender.

Kaylen shook her head, a smile illuminating her pale features. "Nah, I think I'll be able to make it from here over to my cell.." She said, trailing off, her fantasy slightly paling a bit. I mean, she was still an inmate, for crying out loud, and here she was thinking about love, and lust, and crushes and picnics...sheesh.
She stood a little closer to him, and no one was paying them any attention right now, they had all moved either into the cafeteria or wandering around. She smiled up at him, glad that this was all settled...sort of.
She shrugged her slim shoulders, and then smiled teasingly at him, "Maybe later tonight you can drop by and wish me goodnight." Chuckling with a soft tone, she moved away from him, stopping for a moment half-way to look back and wave slightly. Kaylen
