Captain Knauer groaned as he woke up from his slumber. Turning off the alarm, he noticed he hadn't gotten out of his uniform from yesterday. Groaning again, he went into the bathroom and splashed his face before drying it and walking into his main room. Grabbing his accessories and his report, he walked out into the morning. The clock was at the 8th hour in the morning and he knew the Warden would be up.
He walked through the yard and up to the building, traveling its corridors before coming to the Warden's office. Rubbing his eyes from a moment, he rasped on it and entered the room. "Here for my weekly report sir," he said, not really wanting to be in here.

The warden was standing by his coffee machine, listening to the soft dripping sounds that were filtering into his big mug. Hearing a brief knock on the door, he straightened up, picking up the steaming cup and started stirring it, breathing in the warm aroma from the coffee beans. "C'mon in." He said with a muffled yawn.
Seeing that it was Knauer again, his thoughts flashed back to the previous night's events. Ah well, that was all over and done with. Hearing the Captain's reasons for being there, he nodded. His cowboy boots clicked heavily on the floor as he leaned against the window sill.
"Let's hear it, Knauer."He said huskily, still slightly sleepy.

"Sir, all of the women are moved into their cells and are settled down. We currently have two new men inmates and they too are ready to live here. Full security has been brought around the women just as ordered... sir," Knauer drawled, trying to keep his head from falling onto his chest in drowsiness. Shaking his head slightly, he looked up at the sleepy Warden.
A sigh managed to slip between his teeth as he waited for a second before speaking. "And there are about two more inmates on the way, not sure of when their arrival will be," he added, remembering the phone call he had recieved at three o'clock in the morning.

The warden nodded, despite himself he was glad that Knauer had the sense to make a decent weekly report. "Hmm...another two additions eh? This prison is getting full, that's for sure." He said mostly to himself.
Nodding towards the coffee maker he pointed briefly at the other man, who looked like he was about to fall over from drowsiness "Pour y'self a cup a coffee, son, or else wake yourself up some other way. That's all we need right now, a goddamn sleepwalkin' piece of dirt walking around takin' care of prisoners."
It was an invitation for the Captain to share with him, but everything that came out of the Warden's mouth seemed harsh in one way or the other.

"Why thank you Warden, don't mind if I do," he said, walking over to the coffee machine. He grabbed a mug and set it down, watching the black steamy liquid drip into it with little intensity. The strong aroma made a small smile dance onto his face. "We keep getting prisoners like this, we're going to have to build a new cell addition," he said. "Or find more property." He turned to look at Hazen for a moment.
As his coffee finished, he took it and closed his eyes for a moment, enjoying the strong scent. He opened his eyes again and took a small sip of the bitter liquid, enjoying it immensly. He allowed a soft sigh to pass through his lips as he studied the Warden for a moment. He remembered last night and its events... not a happy thing.

Hazen nodded, slipping into his chair, hearing it creak with a familiar sound. "Yep. I reckon that's what'll happen if it keeps going at this speed. By the way, Knauer, I met one of your girl guards today. Who in the hell hired that woman? She's too goddamn disrespectful. We should hold a training day for the guards or something so she'll see what the hell is expected of her."
The warden angrily lit up one of his cigarettes - sure, it was early in the morning, but he needed one to waken him up a bit. Breathing in the aroma of smoke, he hacked once, before puffing on the stick again. "Goddamn guards these days...." He trails off.

Knauer coughed slightly at the smell of the smoke. It made him sick and it was like standing behind a broken down vehicle. "Yes sir, I have noticed that myself... I've been trying to put her in place sir... She's a hard one to crack," he said bitterly, shaking his head. He hated the thought of not being able to put someone in their place. It bothered him like hell.
At the Warden's words, he pondered for a moment, sipping his coffee. "Training day sir? That would probably bring out the best in most of the guards," he agreed. "Or the worst," he added very quietly as he took another sip. "I don't know who hired her..." Goddamn guards these days.... What was that supposed to mean? Knauer thought he was a rather good guard.

The Warden could tell that his smoking affected Knauer. It bothered a lot of people, and that was mostly the reason why he had taken it off. He just liked to piss off people, to have power over them, I guess. Nodding while he sat listening to the Captain, he made a mental note to talk to all of the guards individually, to sort of get a feel about their ideas on how to patrol Allenville, proper procedures, punishments, proper behaviors...and whatever else they needed drilling on.
"Yeah. The training day idea is a good one, I know." The warden said (modestly lol) "Whenever you get a chance, Captain, I think it'd be a wise decision to set one up. Then we can teach those goddamn sons a bitches what to do, and what the hell not to do." With that, he stubbed out his cigarette.

He watched as the Warden stubbed out his cigarette. Of course smoking bothered him. He perferred clear lungs when he died, not clogged ones. Clearing his throat, he nodded in tune with the Warden's words. Training and putting in place, what a fun idea! Shaking these thoughts aside, he spoke. "That's an excellent idea Warden, I'll look at our schedule and set one up as soon as possible."
Stay on the Warden's good side, stay on the Warden's good side... he told himself mentally as he watched the Warden for a moment. Oh how it would be fun to put them all in their place. Repositioning his cowboy hat, he cleared his throat once more and took another drink of coffee.

The Warden smiled smugly, his weathered cheeks cruching up into a sterner look. Looking at the clock, he stood up, for a moment he had to clutch the table - he had started to cough again. Not wanting Knauer to notice that each day he seemed to be coughing more and more, he waved towards the door.
"Goddamn it Knauer! It isn't tea time! It's almost 8:30 and here you are acting like you aint got a prison full of hungry inmates!" The Warden moved stiffly over towards the day's list of activities that he always wrote on a clipboard, and shoved it at Knauer. "Get the hell out of here Knauer...have a happy day!" He said the last comment with dripping sarcasm.

Seizing the clip board in great surprise, the Captain spilled his coffee all over his uniform. That was a great way to start the day. Growling underneath his breath, he felt his mood go sour as he looked at the clipboard. Rolling his eyes he set the coffee mug down on the desk and straightened himself out. "Of course Warden, I'm right on it," he said, a bit of anger sprinkling his words.
He barely noticed that the Warden wasn't looking so good. He was just waiting for him to kick the bucket, then chaos would reign 'pon Allenville. "Have a great day sir," he drawled with a bit of sarcasm himself as he stomped towards the door, ready to blow. He was about to open it when it swung open and hit him harshly. Grunting he stumbled backwards.
**
Inmate Strye mosied in with a couple of guards behind him. He was knew to Allenville of course so there wasn't much to be known about him.
<<He's my new charrie>>

The Warden let out a harsh laugh as he saw the Captain spill his coffee over his shirt. Not bothering to contain it, he chuckled for a couple of minutes, watching Knauer try to clean it up with a few napkins. "Ah Knauer, I wanna thank you for providing me with my entertainment this morning...priceless!" Hazen shook his head, and walked over to take the now empty coffee mug from Knauer's hand.
He nodded goodbye to Knauer, and just as he was about to turn his back, to return to his papers, he noticed that there was someone else at the door. Turning with a sigh, he thought it might be one of the guards who were coming to give him a status report. Seeing that it was a prisoner, he narrowed his eyes, and set his coffee mug down with a bang.
The prisoner was flanked by two guards, and the Warden raised a bushy eyebrow, "What is this about?"

Knauer glared at the Warden as he stood up, cursing underneath his breath for the fact that he was now wearing his lovely drink. Eyeing Inmate Strye, he shook his head and looked at the Warden.
"This is one of the new Inmates sir," one of the guards replied, shoving Strye forwards a bit. "Ethan Strye," he added.
**
Ethan glared at the guard but didn't speak.

Knauer rolled his eyes and shook his head as he looked at the Warden for a moment.

Sticking his gnarled hands into his pockets, the warden took out his glasses. Slipping them on, he stood with his arms crossed authoritavely. Tilting his head to survey the a new prisoner, he shrugged. "So why's he in here?" The warden asked, slightly curious.
Then, noticing a guard leaning against his doorframe, he walked over, pushing him to straighten up. "Goddamn it, Guard, try to look alive!" He said, annoyed, then straightened to study the prisoner. "Why are you in here, son?"

"Well sir, I'm here for assault on a Captain at my old prison," Ethan answered, looking at Knauer who paled a bit. That was going to suck for Knauer if he had to encounter this inmate head on. Ethan looked at the Warden again, smirking as he pushed the guard up into position. This place was a dump to Ethan. The guards seemed to be falling asleep right and left, and the Captain didn't look like the brightest fella at this moment in time.
**
Knauer cleared his throat and looked down at his shirt again, mentally shouting 'F***' in his mind. Shaking his head, he looked up at the Warden, wondering what was going through his mind.
